What is the Wings Waves & Woods Festival?
The Wings Waves & Woods Festival offers a great opportunity for both beginning and experienced birders. Enjoy guided trips that explore the Downeast Maine coast in search for a variety of birds. Boat trips provide opportunities to see Great Cormorants, Atlantic Puffins, Purple Sandpipers, Black Guillemots, and many more! The weekend features more than just birding adventures. There are also a variety of other events scattered throughout the festival. These include an opening art reception featuring birds and their habitats, art shows, expert-led bird walks, workshops, and more. Pilgrim’s Inn even hosts some events!

Wings Waves & Woods Festival Events at Pilgrim’s Inn
Dinner and Birding Talk
During the 2018 Wings Waves & Woods Festival, Whale’s Rib Tavern at Pilgrim’s Inn will be hosting a Dinner and Birding Talk on May 18th. Tickets are available in advance for $26, not including bar drinks. Meat, seafood, and vegetarian options will be available. After dessert, Bob Duchesne, a professional birder, will give a little lesson on bird song identification. You won’t want to miss it!
Bird-friendly Coffee Break at Pilgrim’s Inn
You can also join us from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on May 19, 2018 for our annual Bird-friendly Coffee Break at Pilgrim’s Inn. Join fellow birders at the inn for $5 coffee and pastries and soak in our spacious grounds. The mill pond, heirloom orchard trees, and gardens are all great habitats for regional birds.
